So the 2016 wedding season officially began for Silver Lace weddings & Events on the 22nd January and what a way to get the ball rolling with the fantastic couple Lauren & Mitch, along with their wonderful family and friends at the beautiful villa The Sanctuary Bali.
The Sanctuary Bali is an incredibly stunning villa sat on a huge area of land just inland from Canggu nestled in the rice paddies with river views. The villa staff are great and always at hand to make their guests feel part of the family.
We don’t usually do weddings in the wet season as the weather can be a touch temperamental, however we marched on as usual and took on the challenge. After what was probably one of the hottest and driest November, December and early January I have experienced in my 12 years in Indonesia, we were very optimistic for the conditions. Upon the guests arrival the weather was still fantastic however the pattern started to change slightly with afternoon showers becoming something of a consistency. We took all the necessary plans to avoid any disappointments and put plan B into action with some beautiful marquees. On the day the rain started around 3pm, we decided to hold on and delay the ceremony a little over 30 minutes and miraculously the island of the gods took favour in us and the rain stopped for us to continue with the blessing.
The day itself was fantastic and enjoyed by all, the food was superb, Diana & Chocky lit up the marquee with another great acoustic performance and the bubbles were endlessly flowing. Again as always, a massive thank you to my team and vendors who always go that extra yard to make things special.
Lauren & Mitch, It was a pleasure working for you and we wish you all the happiness for the future!
