Marina & Liam’s Wedding at Villa Plenilunio
Marina and Liam’s wedding at Villa Plenilunio was elegant without feeling too formal.
The day started in the gardens with a classic white floral ceremony overlooking the ocean, followed by cocktails beneath the palms and dinner under the lights. Once the sun went down, the fire dancers came out, the music started and the evening became a proper celebration.
There were beautiful details throughout, but the setting was always allowed to be part of the day.
Getting ready at Villa Plenilunio
The morning started with Marina and her bridesmaids getting ready at the villa.
Marina wore a classic strapless gown with a long veil, while her bridesmaids were dressed in olive green and carried small white bouquets.
Liam kept things classic in a black tuxedo with a white boutonniere, getting ready with his groomsmen before everyone made their way towards the ceremony.
There was also a little time for some quieter photographs around the villa before the day got properly underway.
A white floral ceremony overlooking the ocean
The ceremony took place in the tropical gardens at Villa Plenilunio.
A full white floral arch framed the couple, with white flowers lining the aisle and the traditional Balinese pavilion and surrounding greenery providing the backdrop.
Marina walked down the aisle with her father before joining Liam at the altar.
The ceremony was simple and beautiful, with the ocean visible beyond the gardens and plenty of natural light coming through the space.
After signing their marriage certificate, Marina and Liam walked back down the aisle together to cheers from their guests.
Cocktails beneath the palms
After the ceremony, everyone gathered outside for drinks.
The bar was busy making pink cocktails while guests relaxed beneath the palms and caught up with each other.
Marina and Liam also took some time for photographs around the property, including a few overlooking the ocean as the afternoon light started to soften.
It was a nice pause before everyone moved towards dinner.
Dinner under the chandeliers
As the sun went down, the reception came together beneath the traditional Balinese pavilion.
Long tables were dressed with white flowers, candles and gold details, with blue napkins adding a subtle bit of colour. Crystal chandeliers and warm fairy lights brought everything together as the evening got darker.
The setting felt elegant, but still very much like an outdoor Bali celebration.
There were speeches, plenty of laughter and time for everyone to enjoy dinner together before the evening moved on.
Then the fire dancers arrived
Once dinner was finished, the atmosphere changed.
Traditional Balinese fire dancers performed for the guests, with the flames lighting up the gardens beneath the night sky.
It was a great contrast to the soft white styling of the ceremony earlier in the day and gave everyone something a little different to watch before the dancing started.
First dance and a very good lift
Marina and Liam had their first dance beneath the lights, surrounded by their guests.
Then things got a little less formal.
At one point Liam lifted Marina into the air while everyone watched, before the couple joined their friends and family on the dance floor.
There was plenty of dancing and a lot of energy by this point, with the beautiful dinner setup quickly becoming the backdrop to a proper party.
A wedding that let the setting do the work
What worked so well about Marina and Liam’s wedding was that Villa Plenilunio never felt like it was being covered up by the styling.
The tropical gardens, ocean views and traditional architecture were always part of the day.
The white flowers, candles and chandeliers added to the setting without taking over, while the fire dancers and dancing brought a completely different energy later in the evening.
It was elegant, relaxed and, by the end of the night, a lot of fun.
