Debby & Raphael’s Wedding at The Surga Estate
Debby and Raphael’s wedding at The Surga Estate was all about the view, the flowers and a really good party.
The ceremony looked straight out over the ocean, with a clear acrylic aisle running through the space and white flowers cascading around the couple. As the sun went down, the same setting became a candlelit dinner beneath the lights, before the DJ, fireworks and dancing took over.
It was elegant without feeling overly formal, with plenty of little details that made the day theirs.
A ceremony above the ocean
The ceremony took place on the cliff at The Surga, with the ocean stretching out behind the couple.
A clear acrylic aisle ran between rows of gold chairs, creating a clean, almost floating effect against the blue of the pool and ocean. At the end, a large white floral installation framed Debby and Raphael as they exchanged their vows.
The flowers were soft and predominantly white, with plenty of greenery around the structure. Guests were given handheld fans for the afternoon heat, and there was also a welcome table with petal cones ready for the ceremony exit.
Once the vows were done, Debby and Raphael walked back down the acrylic aisle while their guests threw petals over them.
A few personal details for the guests
After the ceremony, everyone made their way towards the reception.
There were a few details waiting for guests along the way, including a modern seating display and personalised shot glasses.
It was a nice way to bring some personality into an otherwise very clean and elegant design, and gave guests something to discover as they made their way to dinner.
Dinner as the sun went down
As the light faded, the reception changed completely.
Long tables were set beneath warm fairy lights, with white flowers, candles and simple stone table numbers running through the centre.
The open-air setting meant the ocean was still part of the evening, but the candlelight and overhead lights made the space feel much more intimate once it was dark.
The styling stayed predominantly white, allowing the flowers and lighting to do the work without adding too much else.
Then came the celebrations
After dinner came the speeches and the toasts.
There was plenty of laughter around the tables before everyone moved towards the next part of the evening.
And then the fireworks started.
The display lit up the sky above the reception while the tables and fairy lights continued glowing below.
It was a pretty spectacular moment, but the night wasn't finished yet.
Time to dance
Once the fireworks were over, the DJ took over.
The dance floor filled up as Debby and Raphael and their guests started dancing beneath the lights.
There was also a bouquet toss, with Debby sending the flowers out into the crowd before everyone carried on celebrating.
By this point, the elegant ceremony from earlier in the day felt a long way away.
The formalities were done and everyone was there simply to have a good time.
A wedding where the setting did the work
What worked so well about Debby and Raphael’s wedding was the balance between the setting and the styling.
The ocean and cliffs gave them an incredible backdrop, while the clear acrylic aisle, white flowers and warm lighting added just enough detail to make the space feel special.
Nothing needed to be overcomplicated.
The ceremony was beautiful, dinner was relaxed and then the evening turned into a proper party.
