Devin & Daniella’s Wedding at Villa Lux Tibubiu
Devin and Daniella’s wedding at Villa Lux Tibubiu was one of those days where the plan was simple: get married, have a great time and make the most of being in Bali with their favourite people.
The day started with a beautiful garden ceremony, moved down to the black sand beach for cocktails and some very un-serious wedding photos, and finished back at the villa with dinner, speeches and a dance floor that stayed busy well into the night.
It was relaxed, stylish and, most importantly, a lot of fun.
A garden ceremony at Villa Lux Tibubiu
The ceremony took place in the gardens at Villa Lux Tibubiu, surrounded by tropical greenery.
Daniella and her bridesmaids wore olive green, while the guys were in tailored tan suits. The florals were kept classic with white and green, which worked beautifully against all the greenery around the ceremony.
After the vows, guests showered Devin and Daniella with white petals as they walked back down the aisle together.
There was a quick moment for a few more formal photographs, but nobody stayed serious for very long.
From the garden to the black sand beach
Once the ceremony was over, everyone headed down to the beach.
The black sand and wide open coastline around Tibubiu made a completely different backdrop, and this was where the day really started to loosen up.
Devin and Daniella grabbed some sunset cocktails and spent time with their bridal party, while the groomsmen found a few ways to make the photographs considerably less formal.
At one point they were throwing Devin into the air. At another, he and Daniella were riding a scooter along the beach, cheering with their arms in the air.
Exactly how wedding photos should be sometimes.
Back to the villa for dinner
As the sun went down, everyone headed back to Villa Lux Tibubiu for dinner.
Long tables were set outside beneath warm string lights, with white florals keeping the styling clean and simple. It was an open-air dinner, with the garden and tropical surroundings still very much part of the setting.
There were speeches, sunset toasts and plenty of time for everyone to sit down together before Devin and Daniella cut their white wedding cake using their personalised gold cake-cutting knives.
Then Daniella changed the dress
The dinner was lovely.
The dancing was better.
Daniella swapped her lace wedding gown for a short white party dress and sunglasses, which pretty much told everyone that the formal part of the evening was over.
The wooden dance floor filled up, the music got louder and the couple were straight in the middle of it with their friends.
There was a bouquet toss, plenty of dancing and a lot of laughing under the lights.
A wedding that didn't take itself too seriously
What we loved about Devin and Daniella’s wedding was that it never felt overly formal.
The styling was clean and considered, but the day itself was relaxed. They made the most of the villa, the beach and the people around them, and they weren't afraid to let the day turn into a proper party.
The black sand beach, the scooter ride, the outfit change and the packed dance floor all became part of the story.
And that's really what makes a wedding memorable. The beautiful details matter, but so do the moments that nobody could have planned exactly.
