Emily and Tom wanted their wedding in Bali to feel more like a holiday with their favourite people than a formal wedding day.

Peppers Seminyak was the perfect setting for that. They had the privacy of the villas, plenty of tropical greenery around them and a relaxed outdoor setup that worked from the ceremony right through to the party.

The styling brought in plenty of colour too, with sunflowers and soft pink roses against warm wood, white linen and the natural Balinese architecture of the resort.

A relaxed ceremony in the gardens

The ceremony took place on the lawn beneath the palm trees, with a floral arch framing Emily and Tom.

Guests were given woven bamboo fans to keep cool in the afternoon heat, which turned out to be both useful and a nice little detail within the setting.

Emily carried a bright sunflower bouquet, while the flowers around the ceremony brought together sunflowers, pink roses and greenery.

After the ceremony, guests showered the couple with white petals before everyone moved into cocktail hour.

Cocktails, canapés and a few photos around the resort

The afternoon carried straight on without much of a break.

Tropical cocktails garnished with fresh pineapple were served alongside canapés while Emily and Tom spent some time with their guests.

They also managed to sneak away for some photographs around the property, making use of some of the beautiful details at Peppers Seminyak, including the stone temple gates and distinctive breeze block walls.

There was plenty of greenery, some beautiful Balinese architecture and just enough time for the couple to take a breath before dinner.

Dinner beneath the palms

As the sun went down, the lawn was transformed for dinner.

Long wooden tables were set beneath the palm trees and strings of fairy lights, with woven chargers, candles and bright sunflowers running through the tablescape.

Pink roses and greenery added another layer of colour, while the warm timber and candlelight kept everything feeling relaxed and natural.

There was also a lounge and photo booth area for guests, along with a welcome table filled with family photographs, candles and their guestbook.

It was personal without feeling overly styled.

First dance and then things got a little messy

After dinner, speeches and the cake cutting, Emily and Tom had their first dance surrounded by their guests.

Low fog covered the dance floor, which made for a pretty magical moment as they danced beneath the lights.

But it didn't stay quite so elegant for long.

The formal part of the evening eventually gave way to a proper party, and before long everyone was heading towards the pool.

And yes, they all jumped in

There was really only one way this night was going to end.

Emily and Tom, along with their guests, jumped straight into the resort pool.

Dressed up, soaking wet and still laughing, they spent the last part of the night splashing around together.

It was probably the most accurate reflection of the whole day. Beautifully styled when it needed to be, but never so formal that everyone couldn't just let go and have fun.

A wedding that felt more like a holiday

What worked so well about Emily and Tom's wedding was that the two things never felt separate.

The styling was considered and the details were beautiful, but the day still felt easy. Guests could sit under the palms, cool down with a bamboo fan, grab a cocktail, wander around the gardens and spend time together.

And when the formalities were finished, everyone could just enjoy themselves.

That was exactly what Emily and Tom wanted, and Peppers Seminyak gave them the perfect place to do it.
