Summer and Lawrence’s wedding at Villa Pemutih had one of those settings that really doesn't need much introduction.

The villa sits high above the ocean, with a huge old tree right on the cliff edge and views stretching along the coastline. It was the perfect place for a relaxed celebration with their favourite people, and the day moved naturally from a quiet morning at the villa to an oceanfront ceremony, sunset portraits, dinner under the trees and a very lively night.

There were sunflowers, plenty of champagne and, eventually, a swimming pool.

A morning at the villa

The day started quietly at Villa Pemutih while everyone got ready.

Summer’s lace wedding dress hung against one of the villa's blue doors, while the bridal party got ready around the property.

There were also a few personal details waiting for the guests, including a fingerprint guest book and sunflower touches that appeared throughout the day.

As guests arrived, they were greeted with fresh coconuts and could settle in around the villa before the ceremony.

Saying their vows above the ocean

The ceremony took place on the cliff overlooking the coastline.

White flowers lined the aisle without trying to compete with the view, while guests sat beneath parasols in the afternoon sun.

Summer made her way down the aisle with the ocean behind her, and once she and Lawrence had exchanged their vows, everyone gathered around them for a confetti toss.

It was a simple ceremony, but the setting did most of the work.

Chasing the afternoon light

After the ceremony, guests relaxed around the villa while Summer and Lawrence disappeared for a little while with their photographer.

They made the most of the different settings around the property, from the infinity pool and stone steps to the shoreline below.

As the sun started to drop, the water turned golden and the couple spent some time down by the beach for a few quieter photographs.

It was a completely different feel from the ceremony, and a nice chance for the two of them to have a little time together before dinner.

Dinner beneath the trees

By evening, the tables were ready beneath the trees.

Long tables were dressed with white flowers, candles and sunflower details, with the warm lights overhead adding to the relaxed atmosphere.

There were personalised favour boxes, table numbers and plenty of little details for the guests, but nothing felt overdone.

Then came the champagne tower.

Summer and Lawrence poured the champagne together before settling in for dinner and the speeches.

From dinner to the dance floor

The cake came next, followed pretty quickly by the first dances and a lot more dancing.

The wooden dance floor beneath the trees filled up as the evening went on, with the whole wedding party getting involved.

Summer and Lawrence were clearly having a great time, and by this point the careful styling and formal parts of the day had taken a back seat to simply enjoying the night.

And then things got a little wet.

Ending the night in the pool

At some point, the decision was made that the pool looked far too inviting to leave alone.

Summer and Lawrence ended up in the water, still dressed up and still laughing, with the villa lights glowing around them.

It was probably the perfect way to finish the night.

A wedding that made the most of Villa Pemutih

What we loved about Summer and Lawrence’s wedding was how naturally everything fitted together.

The ceremony made the most of the cliffside setting. The sunset gave them some beautiful time together before dinner, and the reception was relaxed enough that everyone could settle in and enjoy themselves.

There were beautiful details throughout the day, but it never felt like the details were the point.

It was about the setting, the people and having a really good time together.

And ending the night in the pool wasn't a bad way to do it.
