Felicia & Forrest’s Villa Phalosa Tea Ceremony and Reception
Felicia and Forrest’s celebration at Villa Phalosa was a day of two very different moods.
They had already exchanged their vows at another location, so their day at Villa Phalosa was about bringing their families and friends together for a Chinese tea ceremony, dinner by the ocean and, eventually, a very lively night on the dance floor.
It started quietly with family and tradition, then gradually turned into one big party.
Starting the day with family
The morning began with Felicia and Forrest’s Chinese tea ceremony.
Felicia wore a beautiful white lace cheongsam, and the couple served tea to their parents in front of a modern double happiness backdrop. It was an intimate start to the day and an important part of the celebration, giving them time to honour their families before everything moved outside for the evening.
The Villa Phalosa setting made the transition from the more traditional morning into the relaxed outdoor celebration feel completely natural.
An oceanfront evening at Villa Phalosa
As the afternoon moved on, the focus shifted towards the reception.
The oceanfront lawn was set up with a wooden dance floor, white florals and a canopy of warm fairy lights stretching across the space. The styling was elegant without trying to compete with the setting, with the gardens and ocean providing the backdrop.
Guests had time to settle in, enjoy cocktails and find their seats before Felicia and Forrest made their entrance.
Dinner, champagne and a little less formality
The reception had a relaxed feel from the start.
Rather than a traditional cake cutting, Felicia and Forrest chose a champagne tower. They poured the champagne together before heading into their first dance, which was a great way to move the evening from dinner into the party.
And once the music started, there wasn't much reason to sit down again.
Then the party took over
The DJ got things moving and the dance floor quickly filled up.
Friends and family were dancing under the fairy lights, taking group photos and making the most of the evening. Felicia and Forrest were right in the middle of it, which is always a good sign that the formal part of the day is well and truly over.
There was plenty of energy on the dance floor, plenty of champagne and a few very enthusiastic shots towards the end of the night.
A celebration that was completely their own
What I liked about Felicia and Forrest’s day was that it didn't try to make everything fit into one traditional wedding format.
Their vows had already happened elsewhere. Villa Phalosa gave them the space to celebrate with their families, include their Chinese tea ceremony and then spend the rest of the day simply enjoying themselves with the people who had travelled to Bali to be there.
The result was a celebration that felt personal, relaxed and genuinely fun.
