Yvonne & Anthony’s Wedding at Villa Plenilunio
Yvonne and Anthony’s wedding at Villa Plenilunio was definitely not a wedding built from a template.
There were cats everywhere, a mirrored aisle floating over the pool, rainbow smoke bombs, a very good dessert tower and a bride who changed into a sparkly party dress before hitting the dance floor.
The setting was spectacular, but it was the personal details that made this one really memorable.
A ceremony above the pool
The ceremony took place at the edge of the cliff at Villa Plenilunio, overlooking the ocean.
A mirrored aisle was built across the pool, leading towards an all-white floral altar. It gave the ceremony a really clean, modern look while still making the most of the view.
But then there were the cats.
Yvonne and Anthony had custom cut-outs made of their own cats and worked them into the ceremony flowers. There were also cat-themed details throughout the stationery and guest book, including the rather brilliant “Our Humans Are Getting Meowied” sign.
It was a small detail, but one that said a lot about them.
A first kiss with a little extra colour
After Yvonne and Anthony exchanged their vows, it was time to walk back down the mirrored aisle.
And that's when the rainbow smoke bombs went off.
The colour against the white flowers, blue pool and ocean made for some pretty spectacular photographs, and it was a much more playful end to what had been a very clean and modern ceremony.
Guests then moved into cocktail hour while Yvonne and Anthony spent some time taking photographs around the villa.
Sunset cocktails and an outdoor dinner
As the afternoon light started to soften, guests gathered around the traditional Balinese pavilion for drinks and canapés.
Yvonne and Anthony also took a little time for themselves, including some sunset photographs overlooking the coastline.
By evening, the reception was ready.
Long banquet tables were set beneath strings of warm lights beside the traditional pavilion, with white flowers, candles and crystal chandeliers bringing a little more glamour to the outdoor setting.
The styling stayed mostly white and clean, but there were plenty of personal details worked into the table settings, including cat-themed menus.
Forget the wedding cake
There wasn't a traditional wedding cake.
Instead, Yvonne and Anthony chose something much more them: a tiered tower of individual matcha and tiramisu desserts.
Guests could help themselves, and at one point Yvonne and Anthony even added fresh cherries to the tower before feeding each other a little dessert for the photographs.
It was a lot more fun than cutting a standard cake.
Then Yvonne changed the dress
After dinner and the speeches, Yvonne changed into a sparkly fringe party dress.
That was probably the signal that the evening was about to get a little less formal.
The couple's first dance took place on the floating pool stage, surrounded by low fog and warm lights. At one point Anthony lifted Yvonne during the dance, which made for one of those photographs that you can't really plan.
Then came the fireworks.
Fireworks, cats and a very good party
A private fireworks display lit up the sky above Villa Plenilunio before everyone headed back onto the dance floor.
Yvonne and her friends were soon partying with oversized cat props and some very questionable sunglasses, which was a pretty perfect way to finish the night.
By then, the elegant ceremony setup from earlier in the day felt like a completely different wedding.
And that was the fun of it.
A wedding that was completely their own
There was a lot of thought behind Yvonne and Anthony's wedding, but it never felt like the details were there just for the sake of having details.
The cats were important to them, so they were part of the day.
They wanted a clean, modern ceremony, so we built the mirrored pool aisle.
They didn't want a traditional cake, so they had matcha and tiramisu instead.
And when it was time to party, Yvonne changed her dress and everyone got involved.
That's the kind of wedding we love planning. Beautiful, considered and well organised, but still completely personal.
Yvonne and Anthony's day at Villa Plenilunio was definitely theirs from beginning to end.
